SAN DIEGO, California — The Pacific Beach community is mourning the death of 14-year-old Owen Harris, an eighth-grade student at Pacific Beach Middle School who died following a traffic collision on Saturday night, September 12, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, Harris was riding an e-bike northbound on Olney Street at approximately 9:20 p.m. when he entered the intersection at Balboa Avenue against a red traffic signal. A vehicle traveling westbound on Balboa Avenue collided with the e-bike.

Emergency responders provided medical treatment at the scene before Harris was transported to a local medical center, where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.
